The Berlin-based artist Lucia Diamond sees herself as the transformative potential of her self, viewing life – with its diverse emotional facets, spectra of light and shadow – as an open process, a cyclical movement that evolves, expands, and deepens, challenging her to cultivate her deeply inherent individual human potential. This transformation process – comparable to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly – is a holistic, healing artistic expression of herself, in which Lucia Diamond experiences herself both as an artist and as art.

from: EROS PSYCHE by Michael Lekakis, 1973
Eros, as a daemon and mediator between gods and humans, has been a central motif in our art and cultural history since Plato. Eros brings forth love—whether it be the love of the philosopher for wisdom or the love among people. He embodies the impulse to desire to possess the beautiful, the good, and the true forever. Thus, the lack inherent in all humans by virtue of their nature as singular beings is overcome.
